Make- up Tutorial: Simple and fast make up for going out!

got some where fancy to go but dont feel like spending hours putting your make up on.... well ive got an easy face for you! lol

this look is easy all you need is a a light and dark shade of the same color, a small shadow brush , liner and mascara for the eyes. concealer and MUFE hd Foundation. blush and lipstick to finish it off.

prob should have fixed the liner....
eyes: first prime lids. apply the lighter shade of the eye shadow to the lids only and packing more on to inner eye lid portion. here i used two mac pigments. then apply darker shade to the outer portion of the eye lid, take this color outside of  the crease a bit. line the upper and lower lid with eyeliner. apply false lashes if preferred and mascara.

face: apply concealer to blemishes under eye area and around mouth. apply foundation to your face. why i love this MUFE foundation is that it gives me great coverage and the application is effortless.

lips: apply a pinkish nude color and your out the door.

this whole look took me about 15 mins to complete from start to end.

Parveen Babi inspired makeup tutorial

hi.

Here i have a fun sexy look for you guys. This is a recreation of a Parveen Bibi look. She looks so pretty in this pic that I found and I couldn't wait to try it out on my self. It was pretty easy to recreate and i hope you guys will enjoy it.

what you need:

   nude eye shadow
   warm brown eye shadow
   grey eye shadow
   black eye shadow
black eye liner (pencil + liquid)
   foundation
   concealer
   mascara
nude lipstick ( used rimmel addict and nyx goddess)

for the eyes:  first conceal the eye to get an even base, and also apply a primer. then pack on a nude eye shadow all over lid and up to eye brows. next take the brown eye shadow and apply that to the and above the crease area in a back and forth motion. next take the grey eye shadow and apply it to the top lash line area only. sweep it out, this will enhance the wing of your and make your eyes appear larger. now line the bottom lash line with pencil or gel liner with a BRUSH, this will allow control also at this point you will start to draw your wing. with this look i found it easier to draw the wing from the bottom first. now line the top lash line and join the two lines at the wing. apply some black eye shadow on top of the liner to clean up the lines and make them more precise and work the black eye shadow into the the lashes making sure no skin is left exposed.

face: use you favorite foundation that will provide a flawless glow. im using mufe face & body. my complexion isnt as nice as id want it to be however :/ i applied concealer to the under eye area after i did my eye make up. on my cheeks i have in gingerly from mac and nars bronzer in casino. then for a highlight i applied some shimmery gold eye shadow to the tops of my cheek bones and down the bridge on my noes.

lips: nude and pink. i applied a liner addict from rimmel, then i filled in my lips with nyx, goddess lipstick. i applied a tiny bit of nars orchid gloss aswell. to finish the look i dusted elf finishing powder to my t-zone.

not the best pic... this is the final look

A disposable mascara wand
before i start to tell you about some of my favorite lip colors for indian skin tones, its pertinent that i tell that it is key to have moisturized luscious lips first. the best way to do this is by applying chapstick regularly, drinking plenty of water, and exfoliating. when it comes to chapsticks the medicated ones are good, and pretty much its whatever you prefer. the water is a given, keeping hydrated will help with your overall complexion. when it comes to exfoliating you can find plenty of different types in the beauty isle, but ive also posted a DIY lip exfoliator. you can also use a mascara wand, a clean one that has never been used for mascara. you can find disposable mascara applicators found almost anywhere you can buy beauty products. also tooth brushes are handy when it comes to getting smooth, soft lips. just use a circular motion in the morning after or before you brush your teeth. ( i dont recommend using the same brush you use for your teeth for your lips, but i don think it would do any harm otherwise).  so the first step is having soft, moist lips! just like you exfoliate and moisturize your face you gotta do the same for your lips.

Blogg: Lips

so ive been really just focusing on eye looks and i think got a little caught up in eye shadow land. i thought that i would deviate to another aspect of makeup, lips. wearing lipstick for indian women is a given, every woman that i know even my grandmother will wear at least lipstick if nothing else when they step out. so i thought that i should take some time and discuss lipstick and talk about my preferred colors and brands. so stay tuned as i will do a lipstick haul, show you the colors i have and tell you why i like some colors and brands opposed to others.

so ill be back soon peeps.

Beautie Fix: ASPIRIN MASK

key to flawless makeup, is flawless beautiful skin. there are many products out there that you can use to help achieve flawless skin, however there is a simple and easy do-it-your-self facial mask that can give you the same or even better results and it costs less than five bucks. this revolutionary mask is called an aspirin mask. "Aspirin is actually a form of Beta Hydroxy Acids or BHA’s, which are found in many skin creams and work by exfoliating the dull, dead layers of skin, revealing fresh new skin underneath. Over time, BHA’s can help clarify skin tone and promote healing of blemishes."

However, do not use the aspirin mask if you have a sensitivity to BHA’s or if you have very sensitive skin, or obviously if you are allergic to aspirin!

it is a simple combination of a few ingredients that you have laying around.

Recipe:
4 aspirin tablets ( uncoated)
a few DROPS of water
1 teaspoon of honey (optional)

in a small dish, place the aspirin tablets, and SPRINKLE a few drops of water on the tablets. wait a minute of two till the tablets are soft enough and easy to mash. mash it all up, and you will have a grainy pasty consistency. if you like you can at this point add a binding ingredient, honey is an ideal one, as it helps the aspirin mask adhere to your face easily. also honey has skin clearing benefits as well. leave the mask on for 5- 10 mins. as you rinse off the mask exfoliate your skin with the grains. your skin will be smooth, and after a few applications you will notice even toned skin as well. do this at most twice a week, as your skin can become resistant to the mask. i hope you guys will benefit from my findings ;)

Make up Tutorial: Purple smokey eye!

i think that purple looks amazing on indian skin tones. its warm and rich but at the same time not over powering.
here is one of my go to looks a beautiful purple smokey eye. its amazing how simple something so dramatic as this look can be to recreate.

you will need a primer,a purple shadow which is multi-chromatic, black shadow, black pencil liner, and mascara.

step one: apply primer, and then take the black pencil liner and draw out the shape of your crease, and fill in that area, focus on the outer half of the crease area, this does not have to be perfect.
step two: take either your finger, or a short stiff crease brush and blend out the eyeliner, carry the color as high as you like.
step three: take a purple shadow and apply it all over your lid, and pat over the black area as well, make sure to leave the tear duct area clear of the shadow. you should now have a very purple eyelid.
step four: take some black shadow and the same crease brush and add more black to the area which was previously black. again you can make it as dramatic as you please. and make sure that you are blending well. also at this point you can highlight under your brows, and also apply a white shimmery eye shadow to the tear duct area which was previously kept bare, blend it all well.
step five: you can use any type of eyeliner to line your eyes, and third of your outer lower waterline. i used black shadow here. then apply mascara and if preferred falsies, and your done and ready for your night on the town :P

happy blogging bloggers:)

Make up Tutorial: Neutral Bollywood look!

This look is really simple and all you need is three shades of colors. i like to use a light shimmery gold color for the inner eye corner of the eyelid, a taupe or greyish purple for the crease and a light grey/brown color for the rest of the eyelid, also a primer your favorite black liner (liquid preferred) and mascara

step one: prime eye lid area up to area below eyebrow
step two: apply the light shimmery gold to the inner corner of the eye, apply this color only to the inner half
step three tale the greyish light brown color and apply that to the rest of the lid and a little bit beyond the crease to the area just above the crease.
step four: take the  taupe grey color, which should be darker than the color in step three, and apply that to the crease and take the color out towards the end of your eyebrow.
step five (optional): take a dark color and apply it to the outer v-area of your eye, so apply it to the outer crease and the end of the eyelid. this will make the look more dramatic!
step six: apply a light highlighting shade under the eyebrow
step seven: apply eyeliner and mascara and falsies if you like and your look is complete!

hope you like this look guys!
please comment and tell me if i need to do things differently or even request a look i would love to redo looks :D

an everyday look: traditional natural makeup

hi!

It has been awhile since my last post. but i have a good one for you guys today. in every bollywood movie i've watched so far the actresses have always looked amazing. and i feel like they have also all been wearing the same look for generations, but the look just gets a little updated or even refined as the years pass. the look that i am talking of is the signature black eyeliner look. now if i go back way back before i was in existence, madhubala, and parveen bibi were rocking the black eyeliner, then as time went a long the eyeliner stayed, it either got thicker, darker, longer, shorter, and even at times it wasn't just black. Therefore since this look always worked for them, i came to the conclusion that it worked for us non-bollywooders too. so i have been working on a look. its a dark liner look, but ive modernized it a bit by making it a bit smokey. i used a soft black color to tame the intensity of it since its a daytime look. I prefer subtler makeup, but this look can be tweaked. im going to post the look tutorial next so stay tuned!
i hope you like it. and comment please.

this picture explains how this neutral look is timeless!

hema malini: a little cute + sexy = inspired make up look

this here is one of the many gorgeous looks of hema malini. she is so beautiful, and has the right amount of cute mixed with the right amount of sexy! i love it. its a classic winged eyeliner look. though i agree she looks beautiful in the pic, i wouldn't say that its an everyday look. however i love the winged eyeliner look, and this make up tutorial is a toned down look inspired by this hema malini look. its great for everyday beauty. this is the look that i wore out shopping with the bf. its flirty and fun.

  • first begin with priming and concealing the eye lid
  • next apply a nude shadow all over the lid
  • highlight below the brow with a champagne color
  • apply some taupe/ brown color at the outer corners and into the outer crease. ( make it as dark and deep as you like, since it was a daytime look i kept the color quite neutral)
  • now line your eyes, i like to apply pieces of tape that follow the lower lash line out past the outer corner, this will make is a bit easier to wing out the eyeliner at the right spot.
  • when applying the liner i like to make lots of little strokes and then go over them with one stroke to make it even. and then draw out the wing. ( there are plenty of vids on youtube that show how to create the wing)
  • once the eyeliner is applied, line the lower lash line as intense as you want
  • apply mascara to complete the eye
  • after you ve done the eye now apply your concealer and foundation, i use laura mercier tinted moisturizer.
  • apply a natural blush to the apples of your cheek.
  • apply highlighter to your cheek bones, i used my hard candy, crushed baked blush in living doll.
  • and apply a pink lipstick to your lips, i used a korres lipstik in #13 natural pink

zeenat aman inspired everyday make up look

zeenat aman is one of the most beautiful women of bollywood cinema of all time and i love her make up looks. so here is a tutorial inspired by her satyam shivam sundram look. its an everyday natural look, that is all about enhancing features. i love the neutral eye and the pink cheeks. my version is a bit more neutral and a bit  more updated. i will try to recreate this look with a few easy steps that you can follow if you would like to wear this look as well!

  1. the key to a beautiful flawless glowing face is to wash and ex-foliate your skin daily, especially before applying makeup. but be gentle with exfoliating, if your doing it everyday.
  2. next after you've washed your face, tone and moisturize. using a moisturizer with spf is ideal giving your skin the protection it needs against UV rays.
  3. then if you want you can apply some primer, but i dont use primer for everyday looks.
  4. now apply your favorite foundation, and remember you want to keep this look as natural as possible, so apply it sparingly, i use the oil-free tinted moisturizer which i love, by laura mercier my color is sand.
  5. next conceal any dark spots and redness, also make sure you conceal the eyelid area.
  6. take a nude shadow, or just something slightly lighter than your skin tone and wash that all over your eyelid and below your eyebrows.
  7. next take some light brown or taupe colored eyeshadow and apply that to only your lash line.
  8. now draw a slightly thick, or to your preference, line along the upper lash line form a little bit beyond the inner tear duct to a little bit beyond the outer corner of the eye. this line doesnt need to be perfect just make sure its all across and close to the lashes. for this look i am using a dark brown pencil liner, but you can use a black pencil or khol liner if you prefer.
  9. next you want to take either a brush or just your finger and smudge the line in to your lashes
  10. now just draw a thin line along the upper lash line, slightly extending that line at both ends. make sure you work it in to your lashes as well. and also line your bottom lashed if desired.
  11. curl lashes and apply a few coats of mascara
  12. then take a bronzer and apply that to the cheeks, and temple area. really get a good bronze going however avoid a baked look. i used Nars Casino ( i would also recommend using a highlighter at the top of the cheek bones and on the forehead as well)
  13. now apply a coral pink blush just to the apple of the cheeks, im using HD Blush in #6
  14. use a neutral lipstick or gloss, i just have some carmex in original on my lips.
  15. apply some finishing powder and your face is complete. :)

shimmy shimmers

this is a pretty and simple neutral look that i wore to the engagement. the feature of this look is the eyeliner. it is the make up forever aqua liner in #14. (i will be doing a review on this eyeliner) it is a gorgeous black eyeliner with multicolor micro glitter in the eyeliner. it is amazing.
if you like this look follow the steps bellow.
  1. first conceal the whole perimeter of the eye to get rid of any darkness or redness, this will help create a blank canvas.
  2. prime the lid, up to the eyebrows and underneath the lower lash line as well. make sure the area all around your eye is primed
  3. next take a nude champagne color eyeshadow and apply that allover the lid.
  4. next take a dark brown, a shade or two darker than your skin tone and apply that to the crease area.
  5. blend the brown with  the champagne color.
  6. next i took a bit of a blue color and placed that color in the crease and blended it in
  7. then line the the lid with the liquid eyeliner at the thickness you prefer.
  8. then line the upper and lower lash lines.
  9. apply mascara and false lashes if desired.
  10. then highlight below the eyebrows. and your eye look is completed.

no more pinching required

HD BLUSH

MICROFINISH CREAM BLUSH

make up forever says "The HD Blush is a cream blush that naturally sculpts and highlights the cheeks for a healthy glow. Its matifying and light-reflecting pigments were specifically selected for a perfect application. Its unique second-skin texture blends seamlessly and guarantees a radiant complexion, while providing a completely natural finish."

and i was very surprised to find that the product had promising results. i think for women with a darker skin pigmentation its a bit more challenging for us to achieve that flush look, with out looking like we have a ton of pink stuff on our face. and for this reason i recommend this product. as the little blurb from make up forever says, the HD blush once applied does really feel like a second skin. since its a cream i was worried about it being heavy, also i was worried that it would make me look over done and cakey and oily. however i was shocked, it gave me a natural and even toned flush. I wore it with my HD foundation, and that may be why i had such amazing results. But i think you could wear this with any foundation as a base. there is a wide range of colors available. and i think plenty of them will work well with a darker pigmented skin tone. the one i have is #6 and i believe its called quickie( i only have a sample of it, and she didnt write the name only the number). it is a coral pink color,  and yes you may think that with just a sample i cant have sufficient experience with the product, however this is the type of product where a tiny bit will go a very long way. ive used the little sample about 5 times and probably have enough for 2 more applications! its crazy! this stuff is amazing. they recommend using a stifling type brush but i like to use my fingers to apply this. i place a dot in the center of the apples of my cheeks and slowly blend it out and follow my cheek bones, into my hair line for a natural effect. then dust some translucent powder and then you have an all day flush, no more cheek pinching required!

quality convenience

Ponds: Cleansing and Makeup removing cloths, 30's
so i tend to get oily and greasy constantly throughout the day, and a sink is not always available to me to wash my face, thus i have been considering cleansing facial cloths, such as these ponds ones. i have never used anything like these, at one point when my brother was a baby, we had a plentiful supply of baby wipes and my mom would tell me to use them to remove my make up. i did that for awhile, but was turned off of the baby bum smell that lingered on my face, thus stopped. but now im looking for convenient, and a grease free life. blotting sheets are handy for temporary shine free moments, but i need to just degrease sometimes and start fresh. many brands carry cleansing cloths like these, however i chose the Ponds ones because they were on sale for $6 and i like things on sales. ive used it twice (which may not be sufficient experience with he product but) and i like it. i have greasy, oily skin and it doesnt matter what make up i use i look like ive applied baby oil to my face after two hours. also this is convenient for those days where i just dont want to wash my face, due to laziness. when i was using this i wasnt quite sure what to expect, the cloths were quite saturated, i might even say they were a bit too saturated with the solution, but i guess thats good for it being new and all. i began with wiping off my foundation from my face, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies of my face. then i got to my eyes, this was the difficult task, i dont think it worked well with taking off the mascara, but it got the shadow and liner. after my face felt like it needed to be rinsed, but as soon as it was dried my face felt clean. It didnt dry out my skin. i was worried that my skin would break out the next morning, but i was happy to see no new developing pimpies. so over all i like this product and if your looking for a convenient escape from the grease, i would recommend trying this out.

happy blogging :D

*i purchased these products on my own, and these are my opinions only based on my personal experience, others experience may vary*

blue sky fantasies...

since it been so glum and gloomy here in vancouver i was very excited to wake up this morning and see blue sky and feel the warm golden rays of the sun on my face as i drank my earl grey tea by the deck window. it was i was in a dream, a dream where every thing was warm, and bright and fresh and then there were the dream
destroying construction trucks.  ive been really loving blues right now, im not sure if its a trend right now or not but i think blue works with darker tones and i decided to do another tutorial today. its a blue look, that has just a hint of smokeyness in the outer corner making it wearable for any occasion.

this is a really simple look, the key is making sure that the colors graduate from light at the inner corner to dark at the outer corner.
what you need:
  • primer, a silver shadow, light gold shadow, a light blue and a blue that is one shade darker than the light one, matte brown shadow, pencil liner, liquid liner, mascara, false lashes (ifdesired)
  1. prime lids up to brow bone and along the upper and lower lash line,
  2. mix the silver shadow and the light gold shadow and apply that to the inner corner of the eye and along the inner lower lash line.
  3. then apply the lighter blue color to the rest of the lids, working it in to the crease area and avoiding going above.
  4. next take that same blue but this time apply it with a wet shadow brush, this will give you that bright concentrated blue color. make sure you keep it on the lid and avoid the area where the silver shadow was applied.
  5. carry that blue color on to the outer lower lash line
  6. apply the darker blue with a dry brush on top of the lighter blue, and blend it well.
  7. now apply the matte brown to and above the crease area, making sure to blend
  8. once the brown is applied  tap a little bit of black eye shadow to the outer corner, and blend that into the brown.
  9. next highlight the brow area, line the water liner with the black pencil
  10. apply liquid eyeliner and mascara and your eyes are complete

So i lied.....

so i know i said i would do tutorials, however i must admit i don't know where to begin. its kind of intimidating, i think im going to need to practice. however i have been doing some shopping, and well i thought i would do a haul! so thats what i am working on right now.

HAUL!!!

so i since ive been looking for a job, ive been kind of bored and well the only exciting activity i can think of is shopping. however no job means no income, means well no shopping, but i never do the right thing ever anyway so whatever.
here are a few things that i have picked up in the last few weeks. there are some great things and some okay things, and somethings that i havent even tried yet. But keep reading on to learn more about my fab finds. :)

so i went for a walk the other and its been really cold these days considering its may and all and my skin especially my lips are supper chapped, almost worse that it was in winter. i lost my aveda lip slave, and job less and all i wasnt willing to spend $12 on another one (i dont even know why i am spending that much on chap stick any way) so i went to my neighborhood Shoppers Drug Mart and went on the hunt for something good and reasonable. I didnt even realize the options available, but my gaze fell upon the CARMEX, bright yellow, vintage looking package. And i think i have used this before when it was in the jar type packaging (which i feel is unhygienic) and had liked it but i preferred a tube. and here is the tube and i love it and will defiantly re purchase this item. Perfectly moisturizing and long lasting.

make brushes i feel are essential, they allow a nice even coverage of makeup and also prevent wasting of products. however they can be expensive. however you dont need to buy expensive brushes to get the best results, you can use alsmost any brand of brushes out there. though there are some really bad brushes out there it is good to do your research. however elf is a good cheap good quality brand, here in canada its hard to find such products some times is your lucky winners will have a few items. but ive been finding elf at my neighborhood dollar store! and i found this bronzing brush which i use for blush and i love it, it gives great even coverage of any blush bronzer i use and i only paid 1.50 for it!

this is a new product to me, ive been looking for a good concealer for my complexion for a long time and i have found nothing. they are either to chalky or just look horrendous. but then i found the erase paste and i love it! its not chalky its not heavy, not greasy, its just perfect. I use it around my eyes and as a spot coverer and it literally erases anything. the down side is that it only comes in three shades and i use the darkest of the three. I may not be able to use it when summer starts and my skin darkens, but who knows if summer ever arrives.

i have heard a lot about hard candy but i have never actually seen it before, and then walmart happened and now i am in love with the brand. some of the products arent up to par however these two blushes i bought are nice. the first one (top)  fox in a box (in spicy and sweet) , is a a boxed blush, the package is similar to the benefit boxed powders but i like this one better because its got a flip open top which is more convenient  than the benefit boxes. the fox in a box is very pigmented, and you need to be very careful when applying because you`ll look like a clown if you over do it. its a pretty pink coral color with shimmer. and the bottom is a crush baked blush (in living doll), i bought it thing it was more like the top however its very different as you can see, and careful application is recommended as well. its a nice highlight color or even a nice shadow.

I am loving the shatter fad right now i think it is so fun! i was excited to hear that opi was bringing out more colors and i really wanted to get the white. but the other day i was in London Drugs and they had these shatter polishes by a brand called La Rosa. I have never heard of these and well there was not much info about them on the web. they have every color you can imagine that shatters and its priced at $6.99 which i feel is pretty reasonable compared to the opi retailing at $9.95 to $15.00. I bought the white called Snow White and i really like it it dries easily. its a little bit tricky to get the perfect shatter but with a little be of practice i think its will be great! here i have it on top of OPI Sparkleicious.

this is my new fav mascara, i cant live with out it. it give me beautiful lashes that are full and long. its the falsies my mabelline, it comes in waterproof and non waterproof. i prefer the non waterproof. cus i hate the hassle of taking off waterproof mascara. and this mascara is long lasting any way.

i havent used this yet but when i do i will comment about it.

ive bought all these products on my own , and all comments made are MY OWN OPINION!

happy blogging :)

the real trail blazer...

no its not a truck, its the most amazing, versatile, comfortable, easy to wear item that you must have in your closet. a blazer can be worn all year long, and not just for job interviews but with jeans or a fun skirt, and even a pretty dress. it can be dressed up or down, with pumps or sneakers and you will look fabulous. i bought this one at aritzia ( i was to lazy to look any where else) i love the little details. the buttons are pretty and the lining is simple and can work with anything. im definatly going to make good use out of this blazer this summer, i can envision my self in a pretty floral dress, with nude or sparkely gladiator sandals, and itll all be topped off with this fantastic blazer! i cant wait! well ne way thats all for now

Happy blogging <3

MAKE UP TUTORIAL: pretty and pink smokey eye.

now here is another pretty smokey eye look, this is my alternative look. i have to decide which look i like better to wear on the engagement, this one or the blue one. wanna help me decided? ( also think i want to use a more a deeper pink as well)

what you will need:
  • a shadow primer, i used urban decay primer potion however you can use what ever primer you prefer you could even use a pink cream shadow as a base.
  • pink eyeshadow,  shimmery silver eyeshadow, matte white eyeshadow, light and dark blue eyeshadow, matte black eyeshadow, matte brown eyeshadow, a black pencil eye liner, brown pencil eyeliner, liquid liner, mascara, and false lashes ( which i didnt use here but will at the engagement)

  1. first as usual prime lids up to the brows and also the lower lash line.
  2. then line the lower and upper lash line with a brown pencil eyeliner
  3. apply matte white to inner corners and inner lower lash line.
  4. apply a silver shadow on top of the white shadow you just applied.
  5. next take a wet eyeshadow brush and dip it into a pink eyeshadow and paint the pink on to the center of your eye staying on the eye lids and not going above the crease.
  6. next to create a crease take a matte brown shadow a shade darker than your skin tone and apply that into and above your crease area and working it into the outer corner of the eyes making a "v" shape with your crease brush ( this brush should be soft and fluffy to give you an air brushed look)
  7. now take some navy blue eyeshadow and apply that into your crease and on top of the brown shade.
  8. next take a dense crease brush and tap black eyeshadow at the outer corner of the eye and then take a fluffy blending brush work the black into the crease and blend.
  9. next apply a black pencil eyeliner, here line the eye with a thicker line at the out side that tapers as it comes in toward the inner corner and tear duct.
  10. next apply a light blue shadow or use a blue pencil and line the lower lash line, then go over with a black pencil.
  11. then highlight under the brow and blend. apply mascara and false lashes ( if desired)
and then you have your pretty and pink look. perfect for any occasion. i would finish this look with contoured cheeks and a neutral color on the cheeks and a pretty neutral magenta pink mouth.

MAKE UP TUTORIAL: fresh yet dramatic blue smokey eye.

hello my fellow bloggers, this is my first ever ever make up tutorial. i wanted to make videos but i feel i cant get the camera to give me right effect and well there are a billion videos on you tube that you can just watch to understand the technique. what i want to do is provide you with ideas that will work for your indian, fijian, asain skin tones, which are usually a tan to olive to a darker complexion. the looks that i will be suggesting can and will work for any and every skin tone, however will be perfect for the indian, fijian, and asain skin tone. and well with that said i will now go through the step by step process that i followed to achieve these looks. i hope they help and that they are useful. and please feel free to comment, i would love to hear any feed back, good or bad!

so here is the look that i tried out on my self, i am going to an engagement this weekend and wanted to try a pretty yet dramatic look with a baby blue shade.

what you will need:
  • a shadow primer, i used urban decay primer potion however you can use what ever primer you prefer you could even use a light blue cream shadow as a base.
  • baby blue eyeshadow,  matte white eyeshadow, matte black eyeshadow, matte brown eyeshadow, a black pencil eye liner, liquid liner, mascara, and false lashes ( which i didnt use here but will at the engagement)

the steps to achieve this look are as follows
  1. apply shadow primer all over lid up to eyebrow, and also along the lower lash line.
  2. take a small eyeshadow brush and tap on the white matte eyeshadow in the inner conner of the eye, concentrate the white in the corner and avoid to go out to the center of the lid ( tip: take your eye lid and designate three separate areas on the lid , the inner corner near the tear duct, the center, and the outer corner)
  3. now take your blue shade of shadow i used a shimmery baby blue color, you can use any light blue shade you have, and tapped that on to the center of my eye lid staying on the eyelid and not going above the crease.
  4. next i took that same blue color but this time i used a slightly damp/ wet brush and went in to that color and applied the wet shadow to the center of the lid right on top of the dry shadow. this will give this blue color extra depth providing the "pop" of blue that is key to this look.
  5. next i take a brown shadow a shade darker that your skin tone and apply that to my crease, concentrating in my crease and onto the lower brow bone area right above the crease. use a windshield wiper motion. also concentrate the brown onto the end of the outer lash line creating a "v" or winged shape. ( i also applied a bit of a dark blue color on top of the brown to complement the light blue on the lid)
  6. now the most important part that will help the look achieve the real "smokey look". take a dense and stubble  crease brush the one i like is the mac 219 brush, and dip it into the matte black eyeshadow, tap off excess and gently tap the black in the outer corner of the eye, here you can manipulate the black eyeshadow and give your self the defined outer corner look you want thus opening your eye up and out beyond your natural outer crease. i didnt exaggerate to much here but i might on the night of the engagement.
  7. now the most important part to bring this look together is blending, you should have been blending as you were applying the different colors, however now is your chance to blend other wise. so take a clean fluffy brush and blend the matte white into the blue and if you feel that the white is disappearing then take the same small brush used in the beginning and just add a little more white to the inner corner and blend into the blue. then do the same for the black into the blue. and then blend the crease color and eye lid color.
  8. next line your eyes, i used a felt tipped black  liquid eyeliner which i winged out.
  9. now apply a shadow under the brows to highlight and to soften the crease color.
  10. then apply your mascara and  false lashes and your pretty fresh dramatic eye make up is complete.
then after all this is done, clean up any fall out and apply your concealer and complete the rest of your look with a pink flushed cheek, and a nude natural lip.

I really want to go shopping, since I am currently not employed I am not at liberty to spend whatever lousy amount of money I have in my account. However I have taken on the hobby of avid window shopper via la world wide we, which is a wonderful time killer on my lovley job less days :). Thus I have been able to take my time and view plenty of the trends and looks that are hot right now. And from what Ive been seeing from the various stores, from Aritzia to Zara I am quite pleased. The only issue I have is the horrid weather here in Vancouver, which is putting a strain on my summer wordrobe. However I will share my top 5 must haves for this summer anyway with or with out the sunshine, however sunshine is prefered with most of these items : P.

1. My top must have is a tight dark wash pair of skinny jeans/ jeggings that cut off above your ankles, like flood pants. These can be worn with anything and can be worn all summer especially in our gloomy vancouver weather!

2. A cute pair of flat gladiator type flat sandals that have some sort of floral decal on it. I saw so many in many different colors, and I loved them all. They would look great with any outfit and add a pretty feminine touch to any and every outfit.

3. A braided thin (about 1inch thick) belt. Any color and can be worn with any outfit! Hands down a must have. This can be worn all year long infact.

4. Though I do have mixed feelings about these and feel that they should be worn as a bathing suit cover only, a romper or jumpsuit. They are not easy to wear but I think for the beach or pool they could be perfect!

5. And my final must have is a pretty colouful and feminine dress, right now the big thing is maxi and I have nothing against a maxi however wear them cautiously, one wrong move and you'll look like your wearing a bag or a curtain! However short ones are also a great option and work for everyone!

now I know that these 5 won't be enough however as staples they can help you get a jump start to a great summer wordrobe!

For now happy blogging :)

day with the bf

had a wonderful day with the love of my life today. havent seen him in like two weeks, since we have such conflicting schedules. made the effort to cherish every moment. we had opa for lunch (yumm) i love rice and their greek potatoes are made to perfection ( well they have their moments, there are the occasional raw potato incidents : /) like the usual we took our food to go. we normally sit on his bed, put on a movie and munch out together :). today the dinner movie was Scott Pilgrim vs the World, which i surprisingly enjoyed alot. ( i might start doing like movie reviews here soon too) ((hmmmm...)) it was action packed yet had a cheesy romantic ( but dumb at the same time) story line. and i guess thats wat i like to watch cus i enjoyed it. ate so            much food, that i had to take a nap, passed out and when i woke up, my bf was there next to me waiting for me to wake up he's so sweet (: we also watched the Vancouver Edmonton hockey game together, though the Vancouver Canucks are the Presidents Choice champions, they played like any thing but champions. they lost by a disappointing 4-1 score. so bf decided i needed something to cheer me up and out he brought me was a Peanut Buster Bar the Dairy Queen ones ( soooo yumm) with all the peanuts and fudge and Dairy Queen soft serve. i swear this guy he is just to good to be true sometimes. <3 then i had to go home :( i hate leaving him. but i had a great idea, once i figure out how to make vlogs i want  to make tutorials on sustainable beauty, that will help reduce my global foot print. buy and review products that are environmentally and economically beneficial.... so stay tuned :) (lol completely changed the topic from bf to make up)

GO CANUCKS GO!

ok so i want to make a vlog.... but i have no clue where to start.....

HELLLOOOOO

HEY!

so its ihrtSRK here and this is my first ever ever ever post! this is going to be my blog that is affiliated with my youtube VLOG lol :) so basically i want to blog about makeup and ive been inspired by sooo many ppl, friends, youtubers and everyone and i know theres already more than enough makeup based channels, however i feel there is a lack of indian/south asian makeup tutorials and i want to pretty much pertain to that demographic, people with skin and skin pigmentation like mine! So ill be reviewing products and tutorialing( if thats even a word). and it wont stop there, it will be just a well rounded channel for everyone however there will be more of an emphasis on make up for a darker complexion. i hope you will watch and enjoy..
peace and love <3
