hello my fellow bloggers, this is my first ever ever make up tutorial. i wanted to make videos but i feel i cant get the camera to give me right effect and well there are a billion videos on you tube that you can just watch to understand the technique. what i want to do is provide you with ideas that will work for your indian, fijian, asain skin tones, which are usually a tan to olive to a darker complexion. the looks that i will be suggesting can and will work for any and every skin tone, however will be perfect for the indian, fijian, and asain skin tone. and well with that said i will now go through the step by step process that i followed to achieve these looks. i hope they help and that they are useful. and please feel free to comment, i would love to hear any feed back, good or bad!
so here is the look that i tried out on my self, i am going to an engagement this weekend and wanted to try a pretty yet dramatic look with a baby blue shade.
what you will need:
- a shadow primer, i used urban decay primer potion however you can use what ever primer you prefer you could even use a light blue cream shadow as a base.
- baby blue eyeshadow, matte white eyeshadow, matte black eyeshadow, matte brown eyeshadow, a black pencil eye liner, liquid liner, mascara, and false lashes ( which i didnt use here but will at the engagement)
the steps to achieve this look are as follows
- apply shadow primer all over lid up to eyebrow, and also along the lower lash line.
- take a small eyeshadow brush and tap on the white matte eyeshadow in the inner conner of the eye, concentrate the white in the corner and avoid to go out to the center of the lid ( tip: take your eye lid and designate three separate areas on the lid , the inner corner near the tear duct, the center, and the outer corner)
- now take your blue shade of shadow i used a shimmery baby blue color, you can use any light blue shade you have, and tapped that on to the center of my eye lid staying on the eyelid and not going above the crease.
- next i took that same blue color but this time i used a slightly damp/ wet brush and went in to that color and applied the wet shadow to the center of the lid right on top of the dry shadow. this will give this blue color extra depth providing the "pop" of blue that is key to this look.
- next i take a brown shadow a shade darker that your skin tone and apply that to my crease, concentrating in my crease and onto the lower brow bone area right above the crease. use a windshield wiper motion. also concentrate the brown onto the end of the outer lash line creating a "v" or winged shape. ( i also applied a bit of a dark blue color on top of the brown to complement the light blue on the lid)
- now the most important part that will help the look achieve the real "smokey look". take a dense and stubble crease brush the one i like is the mac 219 brush, and dip it into the matte black eyeshadow, tap off excess and gently tap the black in the outer corner of the eye, here you can manipulate the black eyeshadow and give your self the defined outer corner look you want thus opening your eye up and out beyond your natural outer crease. i didnt exaggerate to much here but i might on the night of the engagement.
- now the most important part to bring this look together is blending, you should have been blending as you were applying the different colors, however now is your chance to blend other wise. so take a clean fluffy brush and blend the matte white into the blue and if you feel that the white is disappearing then take the same small brush used in the beginning and just add a little more white to the inner corner and blend into the blue. then do the same for the black into the blue. and then blend the crease color and eye lid color.
- next line your eyes, i used a felt tipped black liquid eyeliner which i winged out.
- now apply a shadow under the brows to highlight and to soften the crease color.
- then apply your mascara and false lashes and your pretty fresh dramatic eye make up is complete.
then after all this is done, clean up any fall out and apply your concealer and complete the rest of your look with a pink flushed cheek, and a nude natural lip.
